Title: The Tunnels of Tescsuna
Author: Clyde Hayes and Pat Jacobsen

Summary:  It is about two beautiful women caught between a terrible secret and a shattering truth.

Summary:  This is a futurisitic fable of love and free will.  It is set in a world where every choice is predicted .   The society officials decide who you will love, where you will work and even when you die.


Title:  Rumor of War
Author: Dean Hughes

Summary:  This book is part of a series of the Children of the Promise.  The author re-creates the era of World War II and shows how the war affects an ordinary family of Latter-Day Saints.  (We have this book in audiobook and book format.)

Title:  The Secret Life of Bees
Author:  Sue Monk Kidd

Summary:  14-year-old Lily Owen, neglected by her father and isolated on their South Carolina peach farm, spends hours imagining a blissful infancy when she was loved and nurtured by her mother, Deborah, whom she barely remembers.  The search for a mother, and the need to mother oneself, are crucial elements in this well-written coming-of-age story set in the early 1960s against a background of racial violence and unrest.

Summary:  This novel explores attitudes towards prejudice, violence and hypocrisy and one man's struggle for justice.

  Title: 5th Horseman
Author: James Patterson

Summary: A young mother is recuperating in a San Francisco hospital when she is suddenly gasping for breath.    This is not the first such case in a hospital with some of the best doctors in the nation.  Just as patients are about to be released with a clean bill of health, their conditions take a devastating turn for the worse.

Title: Water for Elephants
Author: Sara Gruen

Summary:  Jacob recounts the period of time he spent with a traveling circus during the Great Depression.    It is filled with discovery, love and romance.

Title:  Dirty Little Secrets
Author:   C.J. Omololu

Summary:  Lucy has been hiding the secret of her mom's out of control hoarding for years.  She has managed to keep her home life hidden from her best friend and her crush.  However, when something tragic happens, she begins her plan to try to set her life right. 

Title: Sam's Letters to Jennifer
Author: James Patterson

Summary:  Grief-stricken by the death of her beloved husband, Jennifer returns to the resort village where she grew up to help her beloved grandmother whom has taken a fall and is now in a coma.  Jennifer discovers a packet of letters at Sam's house, which are addressed to her. Summary:  This is a great book about sisterhood, family and secrets.  It is also a wonderful story of struggle and survival in the past and present

Title:   Pretend You Don't See Her
Author:  Mary Higgins Clark

Summary:  A real estate agent witnesses a client's  murder.  She goes into witness protection.  That is not enough to keep her safe.  Someone comes into her life which makes it even more confusing for her.

Author: Robert Fulghum

Summary:  This classic book raises the spirit and warms the heart.

White Hot
Author: Sandra Brown

Summary:  This book is full of family conflict, murder and romance.  It is a suspenseful read!

Home of the Big Stone Gap
Author:  Adriana Trigian

Summary:  It is reunion time for the quirky characters from Big Stone Gap. It is a light but filling read.


Title: Hunger Games
Author: Suzanne Collins

Summary: This a story filled with tragedy, fear, political suspense, adventure, romance, triumph and sorrow. You will not want to put the book down.


Title:  Miracle on the 17th Green
Author: James Patterson

Summary: It is said by the Library Journal to be "a cross between It's a Wonderful Life and a masculine version of Sleeping Beauty".  It is an inspirational, funny and entertaining story of mid life and lost love.
