Q. How do I get a library card?
A. Library cards are free to residents of Milford City. Signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for persons under age 14. To apply and receive an application for a card, please come to the library and speak with the library staff.
Q. How long can I keep the books and other library items?
A. The loan period for the books is 2 weeks (14 days). Videos, music CDs and audiobooks have a check out period of 1 week (7 days).
Q. How much will I have to pay if my books are not returned within the loan period?
A. Our fines are as follows:
$0.10 per day per book up to the value of the book or $10.00 maximum per book
$0.50 per day per DVD or CD
$0.10 per day per audiobook
Q. Do you have reading programs for children?
A. We have story hour for children year-around. They are held from 11:00 a.m to 12: 00 p.m. as well as from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on every Friday except for holidays. The activities at storytime are stories, crafts and music.
Summer Reading usually start in May or June and runs through July. There are many fun activities and prizes involved with summer reading so make sure your child signs up.
Q. If you don't have a book I would like or need, what can I do?
A. We can perform an interlibrary loan and order the item from another library if it is available.
Q. Is there anyway I can download a book to my MP3 player?
A. There is a way to access this information of the state's online library at pioneerlibrary.org. Come visit the library for further instructions.
Q. Do you accept donations?
A. We are happy to accept donations. If we are unable to use the books on our shelves, we use them to pursue other options to get much needed items.
Q. Do you have any book groups going on at the library?
A. There is a book group held every 2nd Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Contact the library for more information.
Q. Do you have an annual report of Public Library Services?
A. It is available at the library.
