MINUTES OF BEAUTIFICATION BOARD MEETING
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2007
26 SOUTH 100 WEST, MILFORD, UTAH
6:00 PM
Chairman Whitney called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Present: Chairman Les Whitney, Board Members Eugene Mayer, Bryan Sherwood, Makayla Bealer, and Monica Seifers.
Absent: Board Member Nolan Davis.
Visitors: Bill and Sarah Wray – General Observation
CONSENT ISSUES
Approval of minutes from June 19, 2007 Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Board Member Eugene Mayer moved to approve the minutes of the June 19, 2007 regular meeting. Motion was seconded by Board Member Bryan Sherwood and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Monica Seifers welcomed Makayla Bealer to the board stating that she felt very confident that Makayla would do a great job for the board; she has already done an outstanding job in her role as Zoning Administrator. Monica will work with Makayla through the transition.
Status of Properties Currently Under Review for Nuisance Violation(s)
Monica Seifers reported that there was not much new to report. Makayla and Les have been spending time working on planning issues. Les Whitney reported that there has been extensive work done on the trailer park issue, with the help of Attorney Leo Kanell. Les and Craig Davis, Beaver County Building Official, are looking at properties to be condemned. Les informed the board that the old Heath home would be torn down; he is waiting to hear back from the LDS Church regarding the demolition.
Report New Properties for Review of Nuisance Violation(s)
Gene Mayer reported the residence on the corner of 900 South and 400 West – firewood stacked around the porch, and weeds throughout the property.
Gene Mayer reported the Neeley property at 300 West and 200 North. Les and Makayla have inspected the property, Notice of Violation will be sent to the property owner.
Board Member Reports & Comments
Chairman Whitney asked if it was necessary to replace Jeff Davis, who has submitted his resignation. Monica Seifers explained that the board was operating in accordance with the code, Mr. Davis was a member of the community who asked to be appointed, he was not required. The board will consist of five members and the Southwest Public Health Department represents the health official; any services required for health would be addressed by the Health Department.
Les Whitney reported that internal and external inspections were completed on the Sunshine Market; for health, safety, and fire code issues. The owner will be bringing in a storage container for paper products. The exterior violations were given 60 days for correction, if not corrected by the due date, the owner will be cited by Chief Whitney.

As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
